Professor Gilbert is mainly engaged in the characteristic analysis of natural and synthetic polymers, especially in the research of polysaccharides and glycogen. He is an international academic leader in the field of molecular polysaccharides and glycogen. Professor Gilbert has published more than 400 high-level academic papers (all indexed by SCI) in academic journals, including more than 60 papers with high impact factor, about 12000 citations, and h-index as high as 57.
